Wakarusa wonders

These are from a very good Wakarusa wetlands walk on the morning of  May 22 (sorry about the delay in posting). On this morning, I also visited the “new” area, where I discovered quite a few goslings. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Hot times at the Wakarusa Wetlands

If you visit the wetlands during this heat wave, remember, the trick is to get there as early as possible. Bring water and keep hydrated. There is a lot of activity in the early morning and if you are a photographer, you know you can’t beat that morning light. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Wakarusa Wetlands updates

I’m a bit behind on the updating. This mild weather has made for some lovely mornings at the wetlands. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Sunday at the Wetlands

I started around 6:00 AM and the fog was so heavy that I considered turning back. It was a bit creepy, but I’m glad I kept going as the fog didn’t last long. I saw several little blue herons, great egrets, great blue herons, and one fascinating coyote. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Sunday wetlands walk

It was not the best light for pictures today, but a very pleasant walk–including meeting a couple of fun, friendly dogs, a large husky who shook out his wet fur all over the camera and the pit bull who gave me a muddy handshake. Click on pictures to enlarge.
