The nest is built and now we wait. This is the first day I’ve seen her on the nest for any length of time. According to Cornell, we have approximately 12-14 days of incubation. Can’t wait to see the fuzzy babies! Click on picture to enlarge.

White robin
We were on our way to Z’s for some much needed coffee this morning when out of the corner of my eye I saw these white wings blur by. I backed the car up and there she was, gathering up grass for nest building. Isn’t she amazing! Click on pictures to enlarge.
Robin at work
We are very fortunate to have robins building a nest over the garage door. The year before last, when they built over the front door, I kept saying, “Gee, I wish they would build over the garage door because they will be less disturbed there since we don’t go out that door much.” They took my advice this year. 🙂 Click on pictures to enlarge.
Bath time
I love robins! I am very happy that they have given their seal of approval on the birdbath we picked up last summer. Click on pictures to enlarge.
More signs of spring
The daffodils are blooming and everyone is singing. After taking the junco picture yesterday, I haven’t seen any around, or white-throated sparrows. I think the hot, strong, wind today was just what some of our migrating friends needed. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Spring is coming–really, it is
I was amazed to see a pair of robins hanging out in the yard today. I missed them! Click on pictures to enlarge.
The robin baths
We came across a group of robins last week bathing in a small stream. It was an ideal spot with good cover. Looks like fun! Click on pictures to enlarge.
Yard birds and one happy squirrel
The backyard is a wonderful place to spend some time. So many of us run out to our cars, run into the office, grocery store, etc., and never stop and look around, or look up. We’ve been trying to make a point of having our morning coffee in the yard (at least while it is still warm enough to do so). Once you start looking, start really paying attention to all the beings around you, you may find you’re not able to stop, and that’s not a bad thing. It happened to me. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Baby robins everywhere
Yesterday, I counted six pairs of baby robins being fed by their parents in my yard. Magical. Click on pictures to enlarge.
