More backyard fun
Backyard Nest Checks
There are three nests of starlings (that I know of) in our yard and our neighbor’s. I can see the openings in the trees and have been waiting for a glimpse of the chicks. I finally was able to see them yesterday. I also watched a woodpecker feed her/his young. The robins are doing quite well also. Very nice! Click on pictures to enlarge.
White-headed cardinal and flicker

Flickers in love
We watched these two for a long time yesterday evening as they bobbed and danced. They’re quite a pair, and so beautiful. Click on pictures to enlarge.
ETA: Someone on SmugMug pointed out that these are both male flickers. Cool!

I’m watching you
I take a lot of the feeder pictures from my office window (which accounts for a lot of the graininess). Today, I was the subject of interest.
