I never mean to wait this long to post. Here are a few of our year-round residents and spring visitors. Most of these are mid-May through mid-June. Click on pictures to enlarge.

A few backyard vistors on a very very cold day
The underappreciated house finch
House finches are so pretty. We have quite a few visiting right now and I love sitting outside and listening to their conversations. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Off they go…
Finch colors
I know that house finches can be more orange than red, but I have never seen that. It is very pretty. I got a great look at this little fella sitting in the tree waiting for the “all clear at the feeder” call. The house finch that is with the goldfinch on the feeder looked more rosy than red. Neat colors on such a gray day! Click on pictures to enlarge.
House finch family
The house finches brought their babies by today. Click on pictures to enlarge.
A great morning for birds
I spent a few hours at the Wakarusa Wetlands and Clinton Lake this morning. Much activity! Click on pictures to enlarge.
Need more snow
Really, we do not need more snow. 🙂 The weather and work have made it a bit tougher to get out to the usual places, but our feeders in the yard are hopping. I’m filling them up pretty much every day. Here are a few of the regulars. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Finches
Kind of neat to see the goldfinch and house finch hanging out. Click on pictures to enlarge.
That bird lady
It is such a pleasure to sit in my office and watch the diversity of visitors to the yard. One of the best spots for taking pictures is crouched between the back of the car and the garage. More than one neighbor has done a double take when seeing me sitting on the ground behind the car. Hopefully, they see the camera and don’t think I am too crazy, but I guess I don’t really mind being the crazy neighbor. 🙂 Click on pictures to enlarge.
