In between storms today, the mourning doves have been preparing their nest. I hope they can get a lot done before the next round of storms roles in. Click on pictures to enlarge.

These two ended up giving up on this nest and building one in front of the house, up higher, and in a stronger tree. Given the winds of the past few days, seems like that was a very smart idea.
