Painted bunting

The elusive painted bunting–elusive to me anyway. It seems whenever I am in the position to photograph one, something goes wrong. It might be raining, cloudy, car going by stirring up dust, etc. Today, I was having trouble with the camera lens I keep putting off sending in for repair. This is not the greatest picture, but it is better than what I have been able to get, so I’ll take it. 🙂 Click on picture to enlarge.

Indigo Bunting

I love the rich colors of the buntings and their beautiful vocalizations as they sing from the tops of the trees. I’m still trying to get good pictures of a painted bunting, but I’ve been lucky a couple of times in getting good looks at indigo males. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Indigo Bunting

I seem to have the most difficult time getting a good picture of an indigo bunting. Their blue feathers are so beautiful that I think my camera just isn’t capable of accurately displaying the cute. Click on picture to enlarge.

Buntings Galore

I walked the wetlands and the state park on Tuesday morning, stalking buntings. For some reason, I am doomed when it comes to photographing them. I saw quite a few, but the light was not so hot. With the ISO at 1600, the pictures are a bit grainy, but it was still a lovely morning. Hearing their songs in wonderful. Click on pictures to enlarge.
