Whenever we have apples, which is pretty often, we leave the cores in the yard. The squirrels and rabbits love them. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Now for a little nap.

I feel like this rabbit and I know each other very well. We see each other pretty much every day. She has a great little place under a shrub where she spends most of the day. When I am out in the yard, she comes over and hangs out on the periphery. We have a nice respect for each other. She never gets closer than a couple of feet and I never make any sudden moves. We get along. She’s probably getting a little tired of having her picture taken. 🙂
I know I’ve said this before, but I love robins. We have robin families building nests and raising families all around us and I love every minute of watching them.
Nest building is serious business.
I know I say this every summer, but they are just so elegant! Click on pictures to enlarge.
There has been a lone pelican hanging out at the Wakarusa Wetlands recently. I hope he is okay. I’m guessing he is a young one who was blown off course during one of the many recent storms and is resting here for a while. I wish him the best on the rest of his journey. Click on pictures to enlarge.
I haven’t seen many goslings this spring. I don’t know if it is weather-related or something else. Perhaps, it is just me not being in the right place at the right time. Anyway, I was delighted to find a large group at the Wakarusa Wetlands (even if they’re almost grown now). Click on pictures to enlarge.
We have a neighborhood bluejay who likes to scare everyone with his/her red-tailed hawk call. Today, I heard the call outside my office window. There she/he was, bathing and screeching. Very cool bird! Click on pictures to enlarge.
