Chickadee family

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

A chickadee family has been visiting the yard quite a bit lately. I love how the little one gets the parents’ attention by flapping his/her little wings and jumping up and down. The cute little vocalizations help too. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Snow. Really. Again?

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Another winter wonderland this morning. I rushed out to throw some seed out for the birds and check on the feeder. While I have to admit I am getting a bit tired of this, there is something magical about the snow coming down and how quiet our neighborhood is on a Sunday morning. I could hear a fox in the distance and a red-tailed hawk shouting out, but I didn’t see them. I did, however, see many of the regulars. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Friday Feeder Action

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

It was a very busy day at our feeder yesterday–juncos, robins, starlings, sparrows, doves, chickadees, tufted titmice, and cedar waxwings (I’m sure I’m leaving some out). The squirrels were also having a good time. Click on pictures to enlarge.
